The Pride Flag

I was attacked
by words today

each one
a tiny little demon
clawing into my body

finding the back of my neck
micro fingers reaching
grabbing at my nervous system

pulling
twisting
disconnecting me

I'm not even alive

animated—yes
yet stones have
more identity

somehow the wind blows me
to the locations I need to be

I happen down a row of houses
one catching my soul

it's dancing in a magnificent dress
full of every color

twirling it picks up my pieces
lovingly holds them

and restores my life
